  • Primary and Secondary Timeshare Markets in the USA and EU

Primary Sales of products are those products purchased directly from the developers via their sales structures.

Secondary Sales products are products purchased directly from consumers who no longer wish to hold timeshare products and so are willing to move them on to others.

If, as many people suspect, there is a serious loss of consumer confidence in Primary Sales of Timeshare products being purchased then it becomes obvious that the sales systems that have become so mistrusted need to be bypassed in order to avoid the many cases of mis selling that are being so regularly reported by consumers who feel that they are afforded little protection from the slick tricksters who work within sales in timeshare.
Use of the Secondary Market not only bypasses these tricksters but it also avoids the payment for overly high priced products, those high costs mainly consisting of the huge commissions being paid to sales and the high cost of maintaining a sales and marketing operation.
Purchasing on the Secondary Market allows the prospective purchaser to research for the best deals to suit their lifestyle and their financial status, taking as much time as they need to make the correct decisions. There being no pressure to buy now because there is no "the offer is for today only." No six hour hard sell and bombardment of the senses and the prospects who do make a Secondary purchase will buy at a fraction of the cost of the same product bought from the Primary Source.

++ Secondary sales are a win-win option the development company get new happy customers. The new owner gets a bargain and the old owner gets peace of mind; If only the developers could be convinced, Then the scammers would be put out of the market overnight, If only common sense not greed prevailed .When and if the developers start to think out of the box then the industry will regain peoples trust

The fact that some developers are in denial of not just the poor sales practices but also the harm that the bad sales teams have created seems to point to it being some time yet before they recognise the need to do things differently.
Meanwhile the comparative few consumers who complain continue to create maximum negative publicity for what could and should be a brilliant, cost effective way of creating holiday experiences.

But Hey! They have only been thinking and talking about it for the last 15 years... So there`s time yet

You would think that someone could realise that it is more cost effective to sell a product to someone who wants it rather than kidnaping someone who dose not and keep them locked up until they agree to buy it

Sometimes it is the shortest of posts that carry the biggest messages and the above post by Keith is surely one of them.

That just about sums it up so I agree with Mavo. The problem for most Timeshare Companies is that they don't know how to market for new business or how to craft their business to suit current lifestyles. However it can be done!

Well that's 3 of us who agree pity non are timeshare developers. who have the setup in place to handle resale and new property all they need is the will. They have the final say on who you can sell to so why not get involved with the full process.
